Las Vegas 24/7

Las Vegas Marching Arts, Inc. is launching our first winter guard “24/7” program for the 2009
competitive season. Our show will be “Oceans Ten – before the heist”. A comical bank heist
attempted by some inexperienced bank robbers, who have yet to perfect their skills.

In these tough financial times, our goal is to keep a sense of normalcy for our young people and lower everyone’s cost to participate by charging just one single fee, No equipment costs, no uniform costs.

In addition to a Brass and Percussion Corps affiliated with Drum Corps International (DCI) and set to begin marching competition sets in 2010 (Las Vegas Blvd), and a vocal performance organization called Vocal Motion, LVMA has a performance ColorGuard (24/7), of which I am the Executive Director.

We are currently recruiting members both male and female for this program to enter the Independent A
group for competitions locally. This is an excellent opportunity for all of those with or without experience.

We hope you will share this with your ColorGuard members as well as any other young people ages 14-21
who wish to compete with us in our initial start up program. A tentative “meet and greet” basics camp
is planned for December 9 at 5:00. Please bring a flag, and rifle if you have one. Please let everyone who is interested know it is crucial for them to attend this camp.

LVMA is committed to furthering the educational goals of all music educators in Las Vegas. All LVMA organizations will work closely with schools, teachers, and students to augment existing musical opportunities and to add to the cumulative effort to provide quality, comprehensive music performance education for students in Las Vegas. I am looking forward to what should be an exciting 2009 WinterGuard season.
